Fast Fantasy Sports Game

I collaborated with Kenneth Jiang as our lead architect and developer to build a start up fantasy sports web application called BoltDraft. We worked closely two founders, beginning with only an idea, designing and developing from ground-zero through to our very first production release build. I coded all adobe photoshop designs and mockups into HTMLCSS, and Javascript with responsive views. We used Bootstrap on the front end and rspec for testing. I wrote all seed data, specs and unit test cases. Configured a clean Ruby on Rails app with a PostgreSQL database and heroku cloud server. We implemented our CI/CD pipeline early, and deployed regularly to testing, development, and staging environments. Our pipeline included Codeship and Git, while using Github for version control. We used ERB for templating and integrated Devise for authentication. We coded rake tasks for fetching contests daily and added a countdown for contests, drafts, and lineups. I designed and developed the home page, draft page, lineup page, entries, salary cap, signin/signup functionality, splash page, player stats popup, upcoming & my contest pages, invitation mailer with history and status reporting, waiting line specs & associations, refer a friend page, leaderboard, game center, account funds, account history, withdraw and info pages. We worked heavily with the STATS API and I ended up programming our own custom "stats_client" Rails Gem, fully integrated with our app for the purposes of populating and arranging players, contests, stats, and massive amounts of other sports related data in real time. Unfortunately, this project doesn't exist on the web anymore. This project was built to be a direct competitor to DraftKings and FanDuel at the time.

Tech Stack: Ruby 2.0.0, Rails 4.0.2, Custom "stats_client" Gem, PostgreSQL, Rspec, HTML5, CSS3, ERB, Sass, Javascript, CoffeeScriptjQueryJSON, Bootstrap, Codeship, Devise, Delayed Job, Stripe, Git, STATS API, Heroku, Skype, Google Analytics
